How We're Reducing our Carbon Footprint 2022
A lot of you already know that we are keen on reducing our carbon footprint wherever we can. With so many new releases and old favourites coming back into stock this year we’re working towards making our products more sustainable than ever. Here are just three ways how:
1. Pre-sales
Pre-sales have already played a huge part in reducing our carbon footprint as they allow us to optimise our manufacturing so that we make as much product as we know we can sell. This means there is very little waste at the factory where we produce our gorgeous dolls and clothes as we buy the correct amount of materials needed for each production run and nothing is left over.
2. Warehousing
Using pre-sales also reduces the amount of stock that needs to be stored long term in our warehouses. This means fewer dolls sitting on shelves over the course of the year, as they are sent out to customers as soon as they arrive into each warehouse. This means that long term storage is avoided, reducing our carbon footprint as storage uses energy.
3. Packaging
Another way we’re reducing our carbon footprint is through our new packaging.
If you were lucky enough to get your hands on a recent Helena or Matilda, you will see what we mean – the gorgeous new box uses eco-friendly paper, has less plastic and is more compact. Again, the smaller size means less energy is used to transport it from the factory to the warehouse, and then from the warehouse to your home.
We are aiming for 100% plastic free costume packaging this year, too. Cute organza bags will keep our doll clothing and shoes protected and looking tidy. Most costumes will even have reusable cardboard hangers for you to keep your new doll clothing looking fabulous.
