Reconnecting with our 'why' - Family History Month
I like being busy and most of the time I would not have it any other way. I like the challenge of new things, I like figuring things out, I like seeing new things grow from a little idea. But… it’s good when you can take time to stop and reflect on why you’re doing all these things that are making life so busy. Taking time out can be a challenge in the rush of daily life. Sometimes you need a change to make you re-focus on your ‘why'.
A big change...
We’ve faced a big life change in our family recently – our first born headed off to University and she is the first one to leave the nest. For those who know about A Girl for All Time® you'll know that my daughter was the my ‘why ‘ for creating the brand: I wanted toys that were intelligent, creative and female-focused, that would inspire children and their families to reconnect with each other and with their past.
My daughter leaving for Uni has really made me take a step back and reconnect with my ‘why’ – I can’t believe how quickly the last 8 years have gone by and how much has happened since I first sat around my kitchen table drafting out Matilda’s family tree…
So, my goal is to reconnect with my 'why' is to re-visit the places that have inspired me along the way.
