Bex Learns about Black History Month at School

At school, we've been asked to write a report on someone we admire to celebrate Black History Month. Most of the girls in my class picked Beyonce. Whilst she's great and all, I want to represent an unheard voice from the past.

Black History Month in February

Traditionally, the idea of celebrating Black History Month was started off in Chicago in 1915.  Thousands of African Americans would travel across the country and come together to share the progress and highlights since the destruction of slavery. 

Maybe I'll interview granny and see who she was inspired by when she was a girl.  She must remember when these celebrations happened in the USA. Whoever I pick for Black History month,  they've got to be obsessed with music like me.

Coming to think of it, granny also loves music so maybe I'll pick her to do a report on!
